Let’s get to the most frequently asked question- what should we wear?

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. I’m here to support your vision of your fall mini session! That said, here are a few suggestions:

  • Coordinate, don’t match. Choose two to three complementary colors instead of everyone wearing the exact same outfit.

  • Choose seasonal colors (or neutrals). Earth tones, jewel tones, deep greens, mustard, rust/burgundy, navy, cream/warm neutrals photograph beautifully in fall.

  • Mix textures like knits, wools, corduroy, flannel or lace to add visual interest.

  • Avoid large logos or graphics that distract from your faces and the overall image.

  • Don’t shy away from patterns but keep them subtle (like smaller prints, plaids or florals) and balance them with solids so the look isn’t too busy.

  • Flowy dresses or skirts add lovely movement

  • Layers and textures work well for little ones too. Avoid scratchy or stiff outfits so they stay happy.

How many people can join?

Mini sessions are designed for up to six people. If you have a larger group, contact me and we’ll explore options to add additional time to your session.

Where should we meet?

I’ll send you an exact meeting location about a week before our session to ensure you get the best colors and views at your location on your session day.

May I bring a pet?

I insist you do! Please let me know you’ll be bringing one (or more), their name(s) and sizes in your questionnaire.

What will you bring?

I’ll have a hairbrush, rubber bands, bobby pins, hair spray, blotting papers, neutral powder, wipes and a few snacks. I’ll also bring a neutral-colored blanket for little ones who need to sit.

What should I bring?

It’s rare we need it, but consider bringing second outfit for little ones. A favorite toy, treat or activity is helpful for kids and pets. I’ll review your questionnaire and reach out if I have additional suggestions.

What if the weather is bad?

I’ll touch base with you about a week before our session with a weather report. If it’s not looking good, we’ll start exploring other options including rescheduling, location changes, etc. Please note: cloudy skies actually create gorgeous, soft light.

What if I want to reschedule for a non-weather related reason?

Life is busy- I get it! You can move yourself to another available slot up to two days before your originally scheduled session. Details on how to do so can be found in your booking confirmation email.

When will I get my photos?

Turnaround is typically three weeks although I’ll effort to get them to you sooner if possible.
